This Red Bordeaux is fresh and fruity with violet and cooked cherry tones. On the palate, it is soft and reveals beautiful blackcurrant and blackberry aromas. The finish is long and lasting.
The Château La Croix de Queynac refers to a site classified as a historical monument: the church of Queynac . This church was built on the highest point of the sector by the order of the Templars. This construction of the twelfth century, was on the famous road to Saint Jacques de Compostela.
The church was abandoned by the diocese at the beginning of the 20th century because it was in very poor condition. From then on, the inhabitants of the village stripped it of its roof as well as its stones to build agricultural buildings. Then in the 1940s, we decided to plant vines inside the church.
Today, all that remains of this church are the remains of the nave and part of the door. The vines have been replanted, and currently we still cultivate this vineyard in the heart of the church, on an exceptional soil by its history but also by its agronomic qualities.
It is perfect with red meats, pasta dishes, grilled pork ribs and poultry.
