Château Loumelat is made from 100% Sauvignon grapes harvested from vines that are on average 23 years old. The grapes are cool macerated for 6 hours, immediately after the harvest. The grape juice is then clarified at 8 ° temperature (débourbage). The fermentation takes place at 18 ° temperature and the finished wine matures lying on its lees.

Presentation of the winery:
Chateau Loumelat is located in the Côtes-de-Blaye district. A delightful area with a sandy soil, rich in clay and limestone, that give a special character to the wines. The vineyard of 49 hectares of land belongs to the Mariochod family since 1778. Nevertheless, it's Vignoble Lesgourges, with their technical wine producing knowledge, that is responsible for the wine production. Today, mainly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon is grown, but a portion of the land is also used for the cultivating Sauvignon for the production of white wines.

Sommelier's advice :
A clear light yellow color with green hues. Intense aromas of citrus - grapefruit and lemon with hints of acacia flowers. A very good flavor balance between acidity, fruit and minerality. A fresh palate with good length in the final. A wine goes best with seafood or as an aperitif. Can also be served with a grilled fish.
