Wine Introduction

King Saint-Louis reigned over France in the Middle Ages from 1226 till 1270. He contributed to the fastening of the counties of the Loire and Provence with the royal domain thus favoring the development of the big wine-producing regions. This Blanc de Blancs pays him tribute.

Tasting Notes

Nice white-gold color with fine bubbles and persistent foam. On the nose, it is fruity, delicate, with aromas of peach, apple and pear. When agitated flattering notes of acacia appear.

Fresh and lively attack, round on the middle palate. The aftertaste is long with fruity and floral notes.

Winery Background

Barton & Guestier is the oldest wine house in Bordeaux, releasing wines from across France produced in partnership with more than 200 winegrowers. It operates on a négociant basis and wines are made at various locations and are overseen by B&G winemakers.

The company originated in 1725 when Irishman Thomas Barton settled in Bordeaux and set up as a wine merchant. In 1802, his grandson Hugh joined forces with Frenchman Daniel Guestier to create a partnership that abides to the present day.
