Tasting Notes
Moderate summer heat led to relatively early pick dates in order to get the Sauvignon Blanc off the vine with balanced acidity and ripeness. The flavors are highlighted by grassy herbal notes balanced with ripe melon and watermelon rind. On the palate, this light-bodied wine is juicy with casaba melon, lemon curd, and tangerine notes. Slight herbal nuances are framed with crisp acidity and finish with a touch of Meyer lemon.

Winemaker Notes
The fruit was picked right at the beginning of the 2017 harvest when the weather was warm and moderate. The Sauvignon Blanc came from a handful of vineyards in southern Lodi and northern San Joaquin that are practically neighbors. The location of the vineyards was perfect for the cool Livermore breezes to rush in at night from the San Francisco Bay which allowed the acidity to set in the fruit. French Colombard was added to give the blend a touch more body in the mid-palate without deterring from the pure essence of Sauvignon Blanc. The 2017 Sauvignon Blanc is bright, fruit-forward and balanced with crisp acidity.

Food Pairings
Niçoise Salad pairs well with this 2017 Sauvignon Blanc. It is also an excellent hard cheese wine – Manchego or aged Gouda are delicious.
